Here's what i watched last year, not all new stuff but all new things i hadnt seen before. i try to keep track of them on my forums and post a review cause one of my buddies and his kid watch, gotta let him know which are kid safe. Reciently ive gotten lazy, i kinda quit watching anime as much, my gf dont really like it so i only watch 1 or 2 series now
DC DA CAPO seasons 1 and 2, its an older anime, bout a boy and his adopted sister in highschool, and a magic tree that grants wishes, has no nudity, kinda hs romance with some magic tossed in, definatly kid safe.
Rosario + Vampire season 1 and 2, season 2 just finished both are 12 ep seasons. this was one of my favorites so far this year, its about a human who happens to get into a school specifically for monsters and on his first day a vampire falls for him, its about his life in school trying to hide the fact that hes a human. kid safe though has lots of panty shots and suggestive theme but dosnt ever show anything and season 2 censors the panty shots even.
Tower of Druaga - Aegis of Uruk this was good, mid evil theme bout a kid who wants to be a climber, their goal is the top of the tower to defeat the evil god Druaga and get the blue crystal staff which can supposedly grant a wish, its the journey that his party has traveling to the top of the tower. kid safe no nudity or language issues not even much blood considering its a monster movie.
Tower of Druaga - Sword of Uruk is season 2 its just started, its already picking up and seems to be better then the first season.
BLASSREITER this taks place in a futuristic germany, the main character who has been altered by nanotechnology battles with the enemy in the same condition. no nudity but pretty bloody and some light language. id say pg-13 to R depending on who strict you are with violence.
Akane Iro Ni Somaru Saka this ones about a boy and girl who's parents have arranged a marriage and their life together when she transfers to his school to meet him. this ones PG typical hs comedy romance anime. sounds lame reading the synopsis but its pretty funny.
Chrome Shelled Regios just started this year, so far and from what i seen i liked it alot, will defiantly be watching the rest. its about a boy who goes to an academy and gets drafted into the military arts portion of the school. their world is barren except for the cities they live in that are enclosed and protected from large bugs creatures that seem to inhabit the rest of the planet. couldnt really rate this one yet since only 1 ep is out but from what i seen theres only some purple blood and guts from the giant bugs that they kill defending the city.
Asu no Yoichi new anime, seems pretty good, its about a 17 year old boy raised on a mountain by his father to become a great samari warrior, he gets sent to his fathers old friends dojo to learn more ends up living with 4 girls at the dojo, about his adventures there. kid safe so far, not even any blood.
Toradora! seems ok, kinda funny, the main characters a clean freak who looks scary but really isnt, hes i love with a girl and happens to befriend his crush's best friend who happens to be in love with his best friend, its about their school life. kid safe
To Aru Majutsu No Index this ones set in a futuristic world, where there are 2 main "religions", magic users (mostly churches and cults) and espers the scientific community. the main character has the ability to dispel anything his right hand touches, he ends up getin into battles with both espers and mages. only half way thru the season but so far its not bad, only a little blood and a few panty shots thats bout it, i'd rate it pg-13.
Blade Of The Immortal pretty good so far, bout guy who had worms put in his body that made him immortal, they would heal and revive him every time he died, and he decided to kill 1000 evil men to atone for the sin's he had commited in hopes it would remove the curse of immortality. i liked it, though not for kids lots of blood, adult them's though they havnt shown any nudity yet they suggested at rape and such. lots of blood and severed limbs/.
Kurogane no Linebarrels this anime is about middle school kid happens to become the Factor (driver) of the Linebarrel supposedly the strongest mech. its not bad considering how annoying the main character is and how often they say hero of justice per episode would make a good drinking game
, aside from that the story is pretty good and the battles arnt bad either.
Akikan pretty funny, about a hs boy who happens to drink out of a can that turns into a girl, hes a bit of a perv so she beats him up alot thru each episode theres 1 girl from each different kind of drink and there are 2 different types of cans, steel and aluminum, some guy decides to have a battle where the last surviving can is the winner and their can type will become the standard material cans are made of. its pretty funny not much nudity that ive seen but heavy suggestive material.
Shikabane Hime season 1 and 2 this one looks good, its a bit odd the basic plot is some monks are trying to find enlightnment by bonding with a corpse and that corpse comes back to life becoming a servant that fights with them against other living dead.
Tales Of The Abyss pretty good so far, no nudity and the blood is either glittery blue (monsters) or bright glittery red color (human) lol the main character spends the first 9 episodes bein a whiney little pain in the ass but it seems to pick up after he gets over that. it really reminds me of ff7 mixed with magna carta.
Ride Back about a girl that quits ballet and joins a club for ride backs, they are kinda like motorcycles that have arms and can stand upright kinda like a robot and you ride on its back. it gets very good a few episodes in and is in running for one of my favorites this year.
Black Lagoon S 1&2 an older anime but still good, bout a group of smugglers in asia and thier odd jobs they do.
Mission E only 4 ep that i can see im thinking it got cut off before it was completed or the subbers quit subbing it so not sure on total episodes. bout girls with strange powers mostly electrical and there are 2 companies that are doing studies on them, one the evil "foundation" kidnaps women they think have the powers and the other company is fighting them to protect the women.
Vexille ~ Movie watched this movie the other day was very good, in english too came out back in 07 has a appleseed feel to it, its about an american woman in a special forces military team. Their team infiltrates japan to investigate whats happened there 10 years after they closed off their borders and put up a shield to block outsiders, was really good i enjoyed it alot.
Photon, the idiot adventures a 6 episode lots of nudity, and perverted situations but no sex scene's. bout a boy who has to go search for his sister who steel's their villages holy artifact and runs off to marry a rock star, a girl from another plant crash lands and ends up being photon's wife. its about their adventures looking for her grandfathers invention hidden on the planet while photon protects her from the perverted duke who is after her and her family's secret's
night wizard 13 episodes, about a guy whos trying to graduate highschool but is a night wizard who fights off demons from the inner world that attacks the normal world. he fights with 3 other girls to protect the world from the demons.
Prisim Ark bout a boy and girl who go to a knights academy and fight for their country against the evil empire who is invading using giant mechs they call angels. mixes sci fi with midevil swords and sorcery.
Rune Soldier this ones another older anime, was pretty funny about a wizard who'd rather use his fist then his wand. he ends up joining a group of adventurers and its about their travels.
Vipers Creed a new anime ep 1 just came out, its about a team of transformer style motorcycle mechs that fight to protect a town from old unmanned military mech's that some enemy sends in regularly. they are freelance mercenaries that are hired by the private military company defend the city.
Spice and Wolf about a traveling merchant that ends up befriending a wolf deity and agrees to take her with him on his travels till she gets back to her homeland. was quite good even though it sounds boring, has a great story even without big battles. only thing i didnt like was it ended an episode not a real anime ending but since it just finished few months ago im hoping theres gonna be another season. definatly worth watching only 12 episodes, a few scenes with some blood and it shows her naked several times when she changes from her wolf form into a more human form with ears and a tail.
Straight Jacket a short 3ep series, in a time when magic and science were used together, magic made people who used it too much become demons and the guys who hunt them wore special "mold" suits called straight jackets which protected them when they used magic, wasnt bad but i think they packed a bit too much into 3 episodes would have been better if it were 6 or so and explained stuff better.
Magikano an older anime, pretty funny, its about a boy whos 3 sisters are witches and they hide it from him but then he meets a girl who also happens to be a witch and shes trying to wake his powers so he can lift a curse off her which will make her loose her power.
Karin another older anime, this ones about a family of vampires that live in japan, their daughter Karin is different from the others since she builds up blood and has to bite people to transfer it to them instead of sucking blood like normal ones to.
Origin-spirits of the past a movie, was good its about the future genetic experimentation had created a forest thats got a mind of its own and it takes over the earth destroying everything. 300 years later the humans that are left try to survive by scavenging things from the past, a boy collecting water from the forest stumbles across a machine and wakes up a girl whos been sleeping and they fight both against and for the forest. was really good, though most gonzo releases are
id rate it pg no nudity or language and not even much blood if any.
Xam'd The lost memories pretty good series im half way thru it now and am enjoying it alot, about a kid who ends up getting turned into a xam'd when his school buss explodes and he gets hit by a flying chunk of green stuff that. turns him into a weird creature and hes saved by a girl who takes care of him and teaches him how to live as a xam'd. he ends up joining a mail ship and travels around eventually getting involved in the big war thats been going on for years.
Clannad after stories this series picks up where the original clannad story left off they all graduate and move on with their lives, not bad though the main char gets a bit whiney as an adult gets sad in some parts but overall decient real life anime.
07 Ghostabout a boy with no memories in a military academy, him and his friend escape after he recovers a portion of his memories and finds that one of his superiors was his fathers murderer. theres not much blood and a little violence, the battles are fought with magic words that circle the user and then lash out kinda like whips attacking the enemy. its pretty good ive enjoyed it but just a middle of the road anime nothing spectacular.
asura cryin bout a boy in high school who has been haunted by a girl since he can remember, they are friends and later he discovers that she is a "projected being" who is inside a giant robot called asura that he controlls and battles with others who have them as well. i like it, not alot of blood but big destructive battles with lots of explosions and a bit of comedy thrown in the mix.
Basquash in a world where the rich live on the moon and the poor live in squaller on the earth a boy who loves basketball ends up controlling a mech called a big foot, and creates his own version of street ball which he calls basquash, its 100% comedy, with ridiculous situations and women with huge breasts, i keep watching don't ask me why
Guin saga about a guy named Guin who has a leopard for a head and no memory at all except from the moment he woke and ended up protecting 2 kids who happened to be royalty of a fallen kingdom on the run from the neighboring kingdoms soldiers. a little blood but all in all decent story, im enjoying watching it.
Hatsukion limited this is a highschool/junior high anime with the most rediculous love triangles everybody loves somebody else mostly about he misadventures of them trying to get their love to return their feelings, pretty funny for the most part. yet another one that im not sure why i keep watching.
Hagashi no eden this is a weird anime about a boy who is some sort of messiah of some weird agency that can control anyone anywhere and do anything, there are 10 Messiah's in all and each are competing to become the best at whatever it is they are trying to do, still not 100% sure yet what that is. each is given 10mil yen and once they run out of money they are killed, i think the goal is to improve the world somehow. funny some times a bit bloody others some of the people in it are a bit off. i watch this one when im bored and have already watched everything else in my list thats out for the week.
KissXsis this ones an odd one about a guy in highschool whos 2 younger step sisters are in love with him, pretty much a soft core porn like the R rated late night shows on showtime
kinda funny, only 2 episodes were released as a promo for the manga.
Pandora Hearts this is an odd one kinda reminds me of an Alice in wonderland gone worse then normal, demons called chains have escaped from hell and make contracts with humans and then the demon eats other humans trying to gain power and if they don't become strong enough in time they get taken back to hell along with the contractor. tis about a boy who contracts with one of the strongest chains and trys to help her gain her memories.
Queens Blade about a bunch of different women who are heading to the capital in order to compete in the queens blade competition where only the strongest and most beautiful woman will win and take over as queen. tons of nudity and sexual situations definatly not for those under 18.
Shangri-Lain the far off future where the world economy crashed and now the world is governed by the carbon market, countrys are limited on how much carbon they can polute the air with, the major governing group lives on atlas. mostly about a girl who fights the people of atlas because they mistreat the people who live on the surface.
Taytutama: kiss on my dietythis ones about a boy whos a decendant of an ancient priest who had fought with their goddess against the strongest 3 Taytutama (something like a spirit creature but not quite a demon) when the seal is broken they are released and the goddess asks him to protect a little girl who is the embodyment of the goddess and together they battle the 3. its a good anime, its good, bit of a harem theme to it as each girl in it likes the main character.
Tears of Tiara kind of a Avalon theme to it, the demon king arwan gets revived and turns out hes the good guy, is about him and his followers as they battle the evil bad guys called the divine empire. this one has quickly become one of my favorites this year, find myself looking forward to friday when the next episode is subbed.
Valkyria ChroniclesStory follows the ps3 game that came out last fall far as i can tell. about a girl who ends up joining the militia after the enemy takes over her town. she ends up joining forces with others and its about the squads battles in the war. characters are all well done funny and ocasionally serious, i like it alot another one thats in my top 5 so far this year.
gun grave an older anime about a guy who was apparently betrayed by his longtime friend who became the head of the mafia, hes an undead warrior who goes and fights against them. pretty bloody, lots of gunfights and murder. pretty good, storys not bad.
